MANILA The number of families affected by Typhoon Tisoy (international name Kammuri) in at least five regions has risen to 123,912.
In its 6 a.m. update Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said these families are from Central Luzon, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, National Capital Region (NCR) and Mimaropa.
The update, signed and released by NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad, said the number is equivalent to 495,408 individuals.
Some 114,552 families or 458,020 persons are being aided in evacuation centers while 9,360 families or 37,388 are being helped outside.
Damaged houses were placed at 38 with 18 totally damaged and 20 partially damaged in Bicol, Western Visayas, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Caraga. (PNA)
