Ex-Davao City top cop is new MPD chief

MANILA A former Davao City police chief is the new head of the Manila Police District (MPD) effective Thursday.

In an order dated Nov. 7, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde, designated Senior Supt. Vicente Danao Jr. as MPD's Acting District Director.

Danao replaces Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan, who has been designated as director of the Northern Police District.

He was also appointed by MalacaAang as commander of the National Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, which is under the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs, on April 27 last year.
