Drug suspect with outstanding warrant nabbed in San Juan

MANILA San Juan police on Monday arrested a drug suspect who went into hiding for three years.

In a report submitted to the Eastern Police District (EPD), San Juan Police chief Senior Supt. Dindo R. Reyes said the suspect Philip Ferrer, 41, of C. Santos St., Barangay Balong Bato, San Juan City was being served a warrant by SPO4 Helen Baldoza and her men at a construction site along N. Domingo St., Brgy. Pedro Cruz at around 2:45 p.m..

The warrant against the suspect was issued by Judge Juvencio Gascon of San Juan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 68 in 2015.

Ferrer tried to flee after sensing the presence of the arresting officers.

After a chase, the suspect was cornered at the end of the street but resisted arrest and pushed the arresting officers.

Ferrer was nabbed by anti-drug operatives for illegal drug use along Barangay Balong Bato in February 2008.

According to Reyes, the suspect failed to appear at the trial of his case after posting bail.

He hid from one place to another until they received information that he went back to his residence and worked as a construction helper several months ago. (PNA)
