DPWH completes improvement of access road to Albay’s Misibis Bay

A beach destination in Bacacay, Albay is now more accessible with newly-improved roads that are projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Tourism.

The 8-kilometer Cagraray Circumferential Road and the 12-kilometer Sto. Domingo-Misibis Road, both leading to Cagraray Island where the known Misibis Bay is located, have been rehabilitated, paved, and widened to become safer access roads for tourists.

Both roads have undergone improvement works with combined allocation of P363 million to accommodate travelers who plan to visit the province's famous island known for pristine beach and caves.

The road rehabilitation projects include widening of off-carriageway, reblocking of portland cement concrete pavement, construction of lined canal and other drainage structures, stone masonry, pavement markings and installation of metal guardrails.

The tourism roads also lead to Legazpi City Airport and different seaports in Bicol Region, providing easy means of transportation for tourists and local residents.

Agricultural productivity of Albay will be further boosted due to improved access in the transport of local goods such as crops, fishes and abaca products to the province's commercial center.
