The Department of Health (DOH) regional office for Bicol has recorded eight new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Dr. Ernie Vera, DOH-Bicol regional director, in a statement on Tuesday, said this brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in the region to 380.
Vera added that all the eight new cases are from this capital city of Albay province.
“Releasing of other details about the said patients is at the discretion of the Local Government Units (LGUs) concerned guided by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act,” he said.
Vera admitted an uptrend in the confirmed Covid-19 cases in Bicol region. “The public, especially the locally stranded individuals (LSIs), returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and close contacts of confirmed Covid-19 cases must strictly follow quarantine and isolation procedures,” he said.
Vera advised everyone to follow all the health protocols such as physical distancing, wearing of face mask especially when outdoors, hand washing, cough etiquette, healthy lifestyle, and staying at home.
Cooperation and discipline from the public are crucial at this time of a health crisis, he said.
