DILG cites Davao City’s peace and order initiatives

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has accorded this city a high score for the implementation of its peace, security, and development agenda aimed at peaceful, orderly, and safe communities.

In a statement Thursday, the City Information Office said DILG gave Davao City a 95 percent compliance score for 2019, and 87.9 percent for 2021.

The recognition, which was part of the DILG's Peace and Order Performance Audit for all Local Government Units (LGU), was given on June 28 here.

DILG cited the exemplary performance of the city government for the conduct of the 2019 and 2021 Peace and Order Performance Audit held on May 26-27 2022.

Angel Sumagaysay, head of the city’s public safety and security command center, said the award gave the city government confidence to continue performing well to serve the public.

“We will sustain the security posturing of the city and the constant communication to the members of the security and safety cluster,” he said.

Sumagaysay also assured they will continue to heighten the border security and the visibility of the uniformed personnel in the convergence areas.

“We will also partner with the stakeholders for the continued propagation of the culture of security and develop long-term security awareness and cooperation among the people,” he said.
