MANILA Typhoon Ompong has inflicted PHP21.26 billion worth of damages on infrastructure and agriculture in six regions, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Wednesday.
In an update, NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad, said the figure can be broken down into PHP6.92 billion for infrastructure and PHP14.33 billion for agriculture in the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, and the Cordillera regions.
In Cordillera alone, some 171,932 farmers have been affected.
The typhoon also wrecked 10,862 houses and damaged 130,024 more in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzo,n and Cordillera. (PNA)
