A total of 7,626 qualified applicants will take the March 15 pen and paper career service examination in Eastern Visayas, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) said on Thursday.
The application for both professional and sub-professional levels in the region closed on January 6, earlier than the deadline set on Wednesday, Victoria Esber, CSC 8 (Eastern Visayas) director, said.
We have four test centers and all slots have been filled prior to the deadline, Esber told the Philippine News Agency (PNA).
The number of examinees in an area depends on the availability of standard testing rooms.
Of the four test centers, Tacloban City will accommodate the highest number of examinees for professional and sub-professional levels at 3,712, followed by Ormoc City in western Leyte (1,708), Calbayog City in Samar (1,192), and Borongan City in Eastern Samar (1,014).
CSC examination passers will be eligible to apply for permanent or plantilla positions in any national and local government offices.
However, Esber clarified that attaining the eligibility will not guarantee automatic qualification for a government position since job seekers must meet the educational qualification, training, and experience requirements.
The CSC announced that those who will fail the March 2020 examination can file for the August exam from May 11 until June 20.
All interested applicants are advised to follow the schedule and apply immediately once the start of the application opens as there are only limited slots. An applicant must be at least 18 years old.
Application will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as our test centers have their own quotas, Esber said.
The CSC reminded the examinees to be updated on their advisories for the school assignments and important reminders during the exam posted on their official Facebook page and CSC regional office website.
