Comelec earns most improved net sincerity rating in fighting corruption

The Commission on Elections had the most improved net sincerity rating in fighting corruption in the 2016 Surveys of Enterprises in Corruption of the Social Weather Stations.

The Commission leapt 18 points from -6 in 2015 to +12 in 2016.

"The recent SWS survey is a testament to COMELEC's commitment to upholding the public trust. The Filipino people can rest assured that we will continue to serve in a transparent and credible manner," Spokesperson James Jimenez said.

The survey was conducted from February 2 to May 6, 2016 and included 35 institutions in the Philippines. Only three other government agencies also had an improved rating this year, namely DOH, AFP, and DA.

A February 2016 nationwide survey by Pulse Asia likewise reflected positively on COMELEC, with most Filipinos thinking that the recently concluded May 2016 Elections was credible and trustworthy.
