Cloudy skies, rains over parts of Luzon due to LPA

MANILA The low pressure area (LPA) spotted off Luzon will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the island on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Station (PAGASA), in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, said the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions, and Aurora province.

As of 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 455 km. east of Baler, Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds in the northern section of Luzon blowing northeast to east, will bring moderate to rough coastal waters with waves of 1.2 meters to 2.8 meters.

Meanwhile, the eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas will have moderate to strong winds headed northeast to northwest with the same coastal water conditions.

The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will have light to moderate winds headed northeast to northwest, which will bring slight to moderate coastal waters with waves of 0.6 meter to 2.1 meters.

Mindanao will experience the same winds blowing southwest with the same coastal water conditions.

Temperatures in Metro Manila will range from 23C to 32C; Baguio City, 15C to 22C; Lipa City, 25C to 33C; Legazpi City, 24C to 33C; Metro Cebu, 24C to 33C; and Metro Davao, 23C to 33C. (PNA)
