Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley regions, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical ServicesAdministration (PAGASA) said in its 24-hour forecast released Tuesday afternoon.
The northeast monsoon or "amihan" is affecting Northern Luzon.
"Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and rest of the country," PAGASA continued.
It said the easterlies are affecting eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
"Winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast over rest of Luzon and from the east to northeast over rest of the country with slight to moderate seas," PAGASA noted.
It expects strong to gale-force winds associated with "amihan" to affect Northern Luzon's northern seaboard covering Batanes province, Calayan and Babuyan islands as well as northern coasts of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte provinces.
Expected 52 kph to 63 kph winds can fan there rough to very rough seas with waves up to 4.5 meters high, PAGASA said in its gale warning 18 released Tuesday afternoon.
"Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," PAGASA added.
