MANILA Some local government units have suspended classes in all levels Tuesday as heavy rains from the southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical depression "Henry" continue to pour.
In Metro Manila, all private and public schools have suspended classes in Malabon, Manila, Marikina and Pasay. Private and public schools in Caloocan and Quezon City have suspended preschool to elementary classes only. Meanwhile, only preschool classes are suspended, both in public and private, in Navotas.
In Northern Cagayan, there are no classes in private and public schools from preschool to senior high school in Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Santa Teresita, Buguey, Aparri, Lal-lo, Camalaniugan, Allacapan, Ballesteros, Abulug, Pamplona, Sanchez Mira, Claveria, Santa Praxedes, Calayan, Lasam, Gattaran, Rizal and Babuyan Group of Islands.
There are also no classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, in Batangas including Alitagtag, Calatagan, Lemery, Lian, Mataasnakahoy, Nasugbu, San Luis, Taal. In Batangas province, only preschool to senior high school classes were suspended.
Classes in all levels, in both public and private, have been suspended in Cavite province and the towns of Cainta and San Mateo in Rizal province.
In Central Luzon, all classes in all levels both in public and private schools, have been suspended in Bataan; Marilao and Meycauayan in Bulacan; Lubao and Sasmuan in Pampanga; and Olongapo City.
Classes in all levels, in both public and private, have been suspended in Abra de Ilog, Magsaysay, Mamburao, and Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro while preschool to senior high school classes only were suspended in Coron, Palawan.
Moderate to heavy rain showers are expected as "Henry" made landfall over Cayagan's Fuga Island early Tuesday and continues to move westward while maintaining its strength, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. (PNA)
