MANILA Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) will give a plaque of appreciation to an honest worker, for bringing to authorities an envelope containing USD1,000 left by a passenger.
Worker Grace Laxamana is a janitress from Omniworx Agency, and has been assigned at Clark International Airport since 2006, Oji Sanchez, CIAC Corporate Communications manager told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday.
According to CIAC, Laxamana noticed the envelope on a chair in the international departure area last Sunday.
She brought the envelope that had 10 pieces of USD100 to an airport operations officer to examine if the money is not fake.
Authorities viewed the CCTV footage, and it apparently showed a passenger "dropping a white envelope" as she was about to board her flight.
A Cebu Pacific passenger claimed the money on Thursday, said Sanchez.
"(The passenger) was verified (as the rightful owner) though her boarding pass, manifest and CCTV footage," added Sanchez.
In a statement, meanwhile, CIAC president Jaime Melo commended Laxamana's honesty, noting that the envelope she found was untraceable. (PNA)
