Choose a worthy leader, Ping tells Caviteños

Presidential candidate, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, on Friday night reminded voters of Cavite’s role as the birthplace of the republic, urging them to be patriotic reformers like the revolutionaries of the past by choosing a worthy leader.

Speaking before a crowd of about 50,000 who attended his and vice presidential running mate, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III’s grand rally at the Verdant Square in Carmona, Cavite, Lacson called for a “silent revolution”.

I am inviting you to take part in a revolution. Not the revolution that our forefathers waged against conquerors and invaders. This is a silent revolution where we will use our pens to shade the names of deserving leaders in our ballots),” he said.

Lacson said the people could not afford to make the wrong choice because at stake is the future of the next generation of Filipinos.

Sa kanila po natin ialay ang ating boto (I repeat my appeal to our fellow Filipinos. On May 9, Monday, when we go to the polling precincts to choose our leaders, let us not make the wrong choice. The lives of our children and our children’s children rest on our choice. Let us dedicate our votes to them),” he said.

May pag-asa ang bawa’t sulok sa ating bansa basta pumili tayo ng tama (Let us not allow our youths and the next generation to lose hope in our country. There is hope in the Philippines, there is hope in Carmona, there is hope in Cavite. There is always hope so long as we choose the right leaders).”

Lacson reiterated that he and Sotto have the experience and track record to provide Filipinos with the leadership they badly need and address the problems hounding the Philippines.

He likewise urged voters to elect their senatorial bets Minguita Padilla, Guillermo Eleazar, Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol, JV Ejercito, and Gregorio Honasan II.

Sotto, meanwhile, said May 9 is the chance for the much-needed hope for Filipinos.

“Pagkakataon na natin ito, Pilipinas (This is our chance, Philippines)!” he said.
