Cebu travelers told to brace for traffic on way to airport on Aug. 6-8

MANILA Cebu Pacific (CEB) on Thursday advised its passengers going to and from Cebu on August 4-6 to allot more time going to the airport, as heavy traffic is expected on these dates due to some triathlon activities.

There will be road closures during these dates because of Ironman 70.3, Iron Girl, and Iron Kids triathlons in Cebu.

"We advise our passengers to take alternative routes going to the airport. They can take the Sangi Motumbo Road or the Benito Ebuen Airbase," spokesperson Charo Logarta said.

She noted that it is necessary for the passengers to make adjustments and plan which route or routes to take, so they could reach the airport on time.

The airline, meanwhile, reminded the passengers that check-in counters will close 45 minutes before the flight schedule.

Those with international flights must be at the airport at least two hours before their flight schedule to allow ample time for security checks, CEB added.

Meanwhile, passengers are also advised to check-in online or via the airline's mobile app. (PNA)
