SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique The Antique Police is partnering with the National Auxiliary Chaplaincy Philippines, Inc. (NACPHIL) for the nationwide conduct of the Spiritual Upliftment and Growth of Organization (SUGO).
SUGO is for the moral and spiritual development of police officers, NACPHIL-Antique provincial director Llorena Arceo said in an interview Thursday.
Arceo, also a pastor, said the Antique Police has tapped them to conduct the program, which will be held twice a week at the provincial police command and municipal police offices across the province.
She said they have long been providing chaplain services to Antique's police officers, but with SUGO, the policemen are already mandated to attend regularly as it will be reported to Camp Crame.
In Antique, NACPHIL has 140 pastors from different denominations as members, Arceo said.
We've had the memorandum of agreement with the police since the start of Operation Tokhang to provide them chaplain service in the community-based rehabilitation of drug surrenderers, the pastor said, adding that this must be the reason why the police has partnered with them for the SUGO.
