MANILA-- Justice Secretary Vitalinao Aguirre II will lead a thanksgiving mass on Monday to commemorate his first year as the Secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
We will have a thanksgiving mass on Monday, July 3, 2017 to give thanks and to commemorate our first year. We shall continue to pursue President Duterte's reform oriented agenda for the DOJ. Our hope and goal is a better DOJ for the Filipino people Aguirre said in a statement.
As part of the celebration, Aguirre conducted a medical mission on his hometown in Mulanay, Quezon Province last Friday.
The Medical Mission provided medical check-up and basic medicines to the residents of Mulanay, with the presence of the Mulanay Lightbringers Club, a socio-civic volunteer organization.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to give back to my hometown especially to the least of my kababayans. It is also my way of thanking the Almighty for all the guidance, the blessings and the wisdom He so generously provided to me and to our DOJ team in our first year of stewardship of the Justice Department, Aguirre said.
