MANILA At least six domestic flights were cancelled Wednesday afternoon due to bad weather brought about by Tropical Storm Jenny and the southwest monsoon, the Manila International Airport Authority said.
These flights were: Cebu Pacific (5J) 771/772 Manila-Pagadian-Manila, CebGo (DG) 6111/6112 Manila-Naga-Manila, and Skyjet (M8) 816/817 Manila-Basco-Manila.
In its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Jenny has re-intensified into a tropical storm as it moved west-northwest over the West Philippine Sea.
All tropical cyclone wind signals have been lifted. However, the weather bureau said occasional gusts may occur in the Visayas and in other areas of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon.
Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be experienced over Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Mindoro provinces, Romblon, and Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands) due to the southwest monsoon. Scattered rains may prevail over the Bangsamoro and Ilocos regions, as well as Zambales and Bataan. (PNA)
