3 nabbed for sale of fake PNP athletic shoes in QC

MANILA Source: BERNAMA (News AgencyMembers of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested three suspects for selling 100 pairs of counterfeit Philippine National Police (PNP) athletic shoes during entrapment operations in Quezon City Tuesday morning.

Supt. Raymund Liguden, head of the CIDG Anti-Fraud and Commercial Crimes Unit (AFCCU), identified the suspects as Mark Coporal, 33, Lorenzo Celestial, 35, and Rail Ramirez, 25, who were arrested in an entrapment operation in Scout Gandia St. corner 11th Jamboree, Kamuning, Quezon City at about 11:30 a.m.

Authorities recovered from the suspects PHP205,000 in marked money and one Mitsubishi L300 FB van with plate number UNQ-687 used in the transaction.

Ligaden said the operation was initiated after the JP Group of Companies, Inc. represented by Aristemedes Segismar filed a complaint that their products are being counterfeited.

The three suspects and the seized items were brought to CIDG-AFCCU for proper disposition. (PNA)
