KUALA LUMPUR, World footballing governing body, FIFA, has confirmed that Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles player Mats Deijl has not met the eligibility requirements to represent Malaysia through his ancestry, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said. FAM said that FIFA confirmed the matter in a letter dated Sept 25 after FAM sought its views on Deijl’s status. LAHAD DATU, A non-governmental organisation Borneo Rhino Alliance (BORA) and Responsible Elephant Conservation Trust (RESPECT), are promoting a new approach to managing human-wild elephant conflicts in Malaysia. BORA chief executive officer Datuk Dr John Payne said the approach includes developing elephant feeding areas at specific sites, away from plantations and gardens, and full with luscious grass and supplementary minerals. KOTA BHARU, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the RM20 million allocation for the purchase of 20 units of water pump in Kelantan, which was announced in May, had long been approved. Anwar, also the Finance Minister, said the implementation of the project was delayed due to several problems that cropped up, including the issue of land approval from the state government to build a dirt road for the use of the new pump.
