Myanmar’s Suu Kyi to spend 33 years in jail

ISTANBUL: A junta court on Friday sentenced Myanmar’s former leader Aung San Suu Kyi to seven more years, bringing her total jail term in all cases to 33 years.   The latest jail term, the 15th conviction, was given in a case of alleged corruption, which brings her trial in all cases to an end.   Former State Counselor Suu Kyi was arrested last year in February when the country’s military launched a coup.   The latest jail term was pronounced in prison by the Military Council today, the Court Newsroom confirmed, according to a report by Khit Thit Media.

Medicine shortage worsens in France

PARIS: The shortage of medicines in France risks being aggravated in the winter amid a triple epidemic of coronavirus, flu, and bronchiolitis.   Patients are struggling to find pediatric forms of paracetamol and amoxicillin in most pharmacies.   Souhil Cherraben, a pharmacist in the Parisian region of Yvelines, told Anadolu Agency that the shortage that started months ago is affecting a lot of medicines.   He said pediatric forms of Doliprane are becoming hard to find because of supply issues.   “There is not a total shortage but we only receive small quantities,” said Cherraben. “Serious shortages affect amoxicillin which
