HK to honor Bureau of Quarantine-issued vax certificates of OFWs

Filipino workers vaccinated in the Philippines will be allowed entry to Hong Kong starting Aug. 30 upon presentation of Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) vaccination certificates, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Sunday. In a news release, DOLE said the HK government has already agreed to let overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who received Covid-19 vaccines in the country to come and work provided they have vaccine certificates issued and validated by the BOQ. PUVs warned amid ‘blatant’ violations of quarantine protocols

Amid reports of blatant quarantine violations in passenger buses and jeepneys, the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday warned drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) to strictly follow the minimum public health standards or else face citation tickets. PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said police forces, particularly from the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), have already been instructed to issue traffic violation tickets to the operators and drivers of PUVs especially in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite.
