The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported 18 recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among overseas Filipinos (OFs) in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East, raising the total to 6,745.
It also reported five new Covid-19 cases among OFs at the beginning of October, bringing the total to 10,539.
The active cases, at present, are pegged at 3,001, with at least 357 undergoing treatment in the Asia Pacific, 166 in Europe, 2,310 in the Middle East/Africa, and 168 in the Americas.
One new fatality, on the other hand, was logged in Africa, bringing the death toll to 793.
“The DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of overseas Filipinos and stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” the DFA said in a statement.
