MANILA Maynilad Water Services Inc. has announced a temporary water service interruption in 15 barangays in northern Quezon City as well as adjacent areas of North Caloocan City and Valenzuela City on Friday, specifically between the off-peak hours of midnight and 4 a.m.
In its advisory, the water distributor for Metro Manila's West Zone said increased demand for water due to the summer heat has caused the water level in its reservoirs to go down faster than usual.
To prevent the depletion of our stored water, we are constrained to implement a water service interruption tomorrow morning, April 5, 2019, between the off-peak hours of 12 midnight and 4 a.m., the company said.
This way, we can refill our reservoirs and ensure the availability of water supply during peak hours, it added.
The 15 barangays to be affected in Quezon City are Bagong Silangan, Batasan Hills, Capri, Commonwealth, Greater Lagro, Gulod, Holy Spirit, Kaligayahan, Nagkaisang Nayon, North Fairview, Nova Proper, Pasong Putik, Payatas, San Agustin and Sta. Monica.
Those in North Caloocan are portions of Barangays 166 (Caybiga), 167 (Llano), 169 (BF Homes), 171 (Bagumbong), and 174-178 (Camarin).
The affected areas in Valenzuela City are Barangays Gen. T. de Leon and Marulas.
Affected Maynilad customers are encouraged to store enough water for the duration of the service interruption. (PNA)
