VisMin Cup moves to Pagadian for resumption of Mindanao leg

The Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup has been cleared to finish its Mindanao leg in Pagadian after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) placed Zamboanga Del Sur under general community quarantine for the rest of July.

The VisMin Cup initially chose Pagadian to host the Mindanao leg bubble, but due to a recent spike in coronavirus disease 2019 cases, the IATF-EID placed Zamboanga del Sur under the modified enhanced community quarantine from June 1-July 15, prompting the league to move its games momentarily at the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Gymnasium in Ipil town.

The VisMin Cup encountered some problems in its Ipil games as the slippery flooring of the arena has put to hold three games already and even postponed the scheduled games for Thursday and Friday.

However, chief operating officer Rocky Chan on Friday confirmed the VisMin Cup will resume action on Saturday.

Pagadian, the bubble host, will battle Kapatagan in the first game of a scheduled triple-header at 2 p.m. at the Plaza Luz Gym.

At 4 p.m., Zamboanga City takes on Zamboanga Del Sur, while at 6 p.m., Basilan battles Iligan.

A formal opening ceremony of the games will be held at 1 p.m.
