Survey shows high confidence of Zambo folks in vaccination

The confidence in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination is rising in this city as nearly half of the 917 respondents in a public survey on vaccine perception have signified their intention to get vaccinated.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Tuesday that 26 percent of the 917 respondents are willing to be inoculated with any brand of vaccines.

Miravite said the survey showed that 23 percent of the respondents are willing to get vaccinated but only with specific brands.

Eight percent of the respondents do not want to be inoculated at all, while the remaining respondents have already been vaccinated.

“All kinds of vaccines work. We are protected once we get vaccinated regardless of the vaccine brand,” Miravite said.

The public opinion survey was conducted from August 25 to 31 by the Research, Evaluation, and Statistics Division of the Office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator. The survey result was released Tuesday.

Pfizer vaccine remains to be the most preferred with 46 percent, followed by Astrazeneca at 18 percent, Sinovac at 14 percent, and Moderna at 9 percent, according to Miravite.

She said that the survey further showed that one in every four adults, or 26 percent, is very worried about the side effects of the vaccines, while 47 percent are slightly worried, and 27 percent are not worried at all.

Meanwhile, she noted that less than one percent of individuals who received their Covid-19 vaccines experienced adverse effects following immunization (AEFI).

She added that 451, representing 0.17 percent of the 261,147 inoculated individuals, experienced mild AEFI. (PNA)
