LPA, ITCZ to bring rains over parts of PH

A low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring rains over parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA embedded along the ITCZ was last tracked 675 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

“Even if it is still far, the LPA will already bring rains over Palawan, Catanduanes, and Samar provinces,” weather forecaster Samuel Duran of PAGASA said.

He added that it has a slim chance to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours, but PAGASA does not rule out such a possibility.

Meanwhile, the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms will also cause isolated rain showers over Mindanao, the rest of the Visayas, and the rest of the Bicol region.

Cloudy skies with rains will prevail over Cagayan and Apayao, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
