Globe restores 97% of services in Mindanao, 60% in Visayas

Globe Telecom Inc. (Globe) has successfully restored its services in several areas in the Visayas and Mindanao affected by Typhoon Odette.

In an emailed advisory on Monday, Globe said all of its services have been restored in Misamis Oriental and Tagbilaran City in Bohol, while more have been restored in the provinces of Palawan, Iloilo, parts of Samar, and Agusan del Norte.

“Cebu, which was one of the hardest-hit areas, is also seeing restoration progress as on-site teams continue with restoration efforts,” Globe said in a statement.

To ensure continued connectivity in areas still affected by the devastation of “Odette,” Globe has rolled out free and unlimited access to its “GoWiFi” service in select malls, government offices, and airports in Visayas and Mindanao.

It said “Libreng Tawag (free calls)” and “Libreng Charging (free charging)” also remain operational in 19 sites.

A list of all locations with these free services is available at www.facebook. com/GlobeBridgeCom.

“Globe is also extending a free 1-month subscription to KonsultaMD for customers affected by the typhoon,” the statement read.

For those interested in helping those affected by the onslaught of “Odette”, Globe has opened donation channels through its GlobeOne and GCash applications.

Partner organizations include Ayala Foundation Inc., GMA Kapuso Foundation, and Rise Against Hunger Philippines.
