DOLE-6 to aid more pandemic-hit workers under CAMP 3

The Department of Labor and Employment in Western Visayas (DOLE-6) announced on Monday the availability of cash aid for another batch of workers displaced by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis.

Under the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP 3), the agency provides a one-time financial assistance of PHP5,000 to affected workers and individuals in the private sector where Alert Level 3 was declared starting January 2022.

“DOLE-6 accepts applications (from) workers whose employment were affected due to temporary and permanent closure of employers’ establishment or the implementation of retrenchment as mitigating measures,” it said in an advisory posted on Facebook.

In order to qualify, the affected private establishment applying for displaced or temporarily laid-off workers must have reported the closure to the DOLE Establishment Reporting System while affected individuals must be a worker or employee in the formal sector.

Applications with documentary requirements are accepted online through https://reports.dole.gov.ph.

On July 1, 2020, the DOLE-6 reported it has disbursed a total cash assistance of PHP127 million for 25,400 affected workers in Western Visayas under the CAMP 1.

In November that year, through the CAMP 2, an additional PHP157 million was allotted for displaced workers in the region.

In May last year, some 16,149 beneficiaries from the tourism industry in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City availed of PHP80.745 million worth of financial aid under the CAMP through the Joint Memorandum Circular 2020-001 of the DOLE and the Department of Tourism.
