The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) will implement a “no vaccination card or no Covid-19 test, no entry” policy in this Freeport starting on Saturday, January 15.
A memorandum issued by the CDC on Thursday said all workers, service providers, locators, and visitors in Clark will be required to show their vaccination and identification cards to be allowed entry in the freeport.
The CDC said electronic copies of vaccination and identification cards will also be accepted.
Meanwhile, unvaccinated individuals should present a negative antigen or reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) result test taken within 24 hours to be permitted inside the zone.
CDC security will also be ready to refer them to the nearest medical facility outside the zone that offers antigen testing services.
In addition to the inspections at the gates, the CDC said businesses inside the freeport were also directed to require guests and visitors to present vaccination cards before entering their premises.
Drivers and driver’s associations of public utility vehicles (PUVs) were likewise told to adhere to the policy before allowing passengers to board.
The state-owned firm will conduct a secondary layer of inspections and random inspections in business establishments, offices, and residential areas inside the Freeport to ensure that the policy is being observed.
CDC president and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan reiterated the importance of practicing the minimum health and safety standards amid the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the country.
“The cooperation of the public is requested. Your safety is our priority. Mag-ingat po tayong lahat (we must all be careful),” Gaerlan said in a statement on Friday.
Last January 7, the CDC started to prohibit large social gatherings and activities in this Freeport until January 31 in response to the rising cases of Covid-19.
An advisory issued by the CDC stated that all social gatherings of three or more persons are not allowed within the Clark Parade Grounds, open areas, and other parks in the Freeport.
