Caraga gets another 40K Sinovac jabs

The Caraga Region has received an additional 40,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine, the Department of Health in the region (DOH-13) said.

In a statement Wednesday, the DOH-13 said the additional supply of Sinovac vaccine arrived at the Bancasi Airport here on Tuesday.

The newly-received vaccine doses are now safely kept at the agency’s storage facility in Barangay Doongan, Butuan City.

“As of now, the region has a steady supply of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines,” the DOH-13 said.

The agency also reminded the residents that all Covid-19 vaccines, regardless of their brands, are safe.

The DOH-13, meanwhile, reported that another 47 patients recovered from Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the region’s recovery tally to 23,827.

This translates to a 93 percent recovery rate out of a total of 25,753 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

Another 73 new cases were also recorded, bringing the active case count to 1,084 while three new deaths pushed the death toll to 842.

The agency continues to remind the public to follow the health protocols as the virus, including its variants, continues to pose health risks.
