Caraga breaches 1.1-M mark in vax campaign as Covid-19 cases drop

The total number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine doses administered in the Caraga Region has increased to 1,125,330 as of November 7, according to the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 13 (Caraga).

In a situational report on Monday, the DOH-13 said the number went up by 34,768 from the 1,090,562 vaccine doses administered since November 1.

The number of individuals fully vaccinated in the region also increased to 568,128 from 538,401, the DOH-13 report said.

A total of 132 new recoveries were also recorded on Sunday, bringing the cumulative number of recoveries in the region to 45,979.

The total number of recoveries represents 95 percent of the total 48,397 Covid-19 cases recorded in Caraga since the start of the pandemic in March last year.

The number of new infections in Caraga also continued to go down despite the 44 new cases recorded as of Sunday.

Active cases in the region went down to 646 from 660 on Friday last week for a 1.3 percent decrease.

“Of the 646 remaining active cases in the region, 63 percent are classified as asymptomatic, 33.1 percent with mild symptoms, 3.5 percent with severe symptoms, and 0.3 in critical conditions,” the DOH-13 said.

The death toll related to the virus now stands at 1,772, with nine new deaths logged in the region as of Sunday.
