Bacolod cops seize P112-K ‘shabu’ from 3 suspects

Police arrested three drug personalities who yielded suspected shabu valued at PHP112,400, in a series of buy-bust operations here Wednesday.

In a report on Thursday, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said the operations in three villages are part of the ongoing intensified campaign against illegal drugs.

“I commend the operating units and personnel for their untiring efforts despite the challenge of the pandemic. We aim to minimize, if not end, the illegal drug problem in the community,” Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, acting city police director, said in a statement.

Rejie Saberon Edianel, 36, was arrested by personnel of Police Station 3 in Purok Rosas Pandan, Barangay Banago at 4:20 p.m.

The suspect, tagged as a street-level individual, was caught red-handed selling the prohibited substance to a poseur-buyer.

Operatives seized from his possession five sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP17,800.

In Barangay Estefania, the drug enforcement team of Police Station 5 apprehended Ferlyn Amarela Parandas, 37, in Purok Pedring during the operation at about 1:10 p.m.

Parandas, a resident of Purok Cheriza Barangay 27, yielded about 12 grams of shabu valued at PHP81,000.

At about 12:20 p.m., Marjo Salado Garcia, 26, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 in Barangay Tangub while selling shabu to an undercover policeman. He yielded about PHP13,600 worth of the prohibited substance.

Meanwhile, the BCPO reported that during various anti-illegal drugs operations from October 1 to 15, they have confiscated about 59.85 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP406,973.

In the 15 operations, 22 street-level drug personalities and one high-value individual were arrested.
