BUTUAN CITY – Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Caraga (PDEA-13) arrested two suspects and seized PHP700,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur on Tuesday.
PDEA-13 information officer Dindo Abellanosa, in an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Wednesday, said anti-narcotics agents and local police seized over 100 grams of shabu from suspects Jimmy Negosa and Joy Aranto, both of Barangay Fili, Bayugan City.
“Several drug paraphernalia were also confiscated from the suspects like improvised tooter, aluminum foil strips, scissors, and lighter alongside with the buy-bust money, ID cards, ledger, and money transfer receipts,” Abellanosa said.
In a separate statement, PDEA-13 director Emerson Rosales lauded the success of the operation.
“The intensified fight against illegal drugs in Caraga as apparently shown in a series of positive anti-illegal drug operations is a result of constant close coordination between PDEA Regional Office XIII, the Philippine National Police, and other drug law enforcement agencies in the region,” Rosales said.
The suspects will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
