40 rookie cops take oath in Central Luzon

At least 40 police recruits on Thursday took their oath as new members of the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon) in a simple ceremony held at the Makatao Activity Center of this camp.

Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, PRO3 regional director, administered the oath-taking of the rookie police personnel following their presentation by Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalan, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division.

Baccay told the young police personnel to always do what is right as their task entails adherence to the Philippine National Police philosophy of service, honor, and justice.

As new police officers, try your best to become instruments of reform and attainment of the goals of the PNP. Do not waste the opportunity given to you and always remember that many were called to join but you are fortunately chosen. You have big responsibilities in the continuing formation of a good example of the Philippine National Police police that include the noble, professional and honest members and you will become part of these dreams),” he said in a livestreamed event.

The 40 police recruits will fill up the slots for the last cycle quota of the recruitment program for the year 2021 to increase police manpower strength, improve the police-to-population ratio, and enhance the police visibility program and anti-insurgency operation of the PNP.

A total of 554 were recruited this year to fill up the 750 quota given by the PNP National Headquarters.

The new police personnel were chosen after a stringent screening process conducted by the Regional Screening Committee on Recruitment headed by Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo, PRO3 Deputy Regional Director for Administration.

After their oath-taking ceremony, the new police recruits will further undergo training at the Regional Training School 3 in Magalang, this province.
