287 overseas Filipinos recover from Covid-19: DFA

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday reported 287 new recoveries amongst overseas Filipinos (OF), an increase of 2.22 percent compared to last week.

In a report, the DFA said a total of 13,215 OFs have so far recovered from Covid-19 or discharged—6,568 in the Middle East and Africa, 3,425 in the Asia Pacific, 2,562 in Europe, and 660 in the Americas.

“The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, continues to monitor and assist our nationals abroad amidst the pandemic,” the DFA said.

It reported 130 new Covid-19 infections among OFs, increasing the total active cases to 8,445 – with 5,480 of them undergoing treatment in the Middle East and Africa, 1,877 in the Asia Pacific, 959 in Europe, and 129 in the Americas.

The DFA also logged seven new Covid-19 deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,376 among OFs—925 in the Middle East and Africa, 247 in the Americas, 130 in Europe, and 74 in the Asia Pacific.
