The province of Negros Oriental on Tuesday reported more recoveries from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Assistant provincial health officer Dr. Liland Estacion, the incident commander of the province’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), in a press briefing here said the province received 364 swab test results from Cebu City on Monday.
Of the number, 344 are negative, along with eight recoveries, and 20 positive cases comprising five repeat-swab and 15 new infections, Estacion said.
Among the recoveries are patients NegOr CoV 218 from Bayawan City; NegOr CoV 208; NegOr CoV 216, a front-liner from Guihulngan City; NegOr CoV 192, a three-week-old-infant and locally stranded individual, NegOr CoV 213, and NegOr CoV 220, all from Zamboanguita; and NegOr CoV 200 from an undisclosed area. No detail was also given about the remaining recovered patient.
Meanwhile, the 15 new positive cases are five each from Dumaguete City and Tayasan; three from Bayawan City; and one each from Guihulngan City and Dauin.
The new cases in Dumaguete, Tayasan, Bayawan, and Guihulngan are all local transmissions while the one in Dauin involves an authorized person outside of residence.
The total Covid-19 tally in the province is now 264, with 62 active cases, 196 recoveries and six deaths, Estacion said.
She added that of the 62 active cases, Guihulngan City, which is on enhanced community quarantine for two weeks since Monday, has the highest number with 13; followed by this capital (12); Zamboanguita (12); Bayawan City (8); Tayasan (5); La Libertad (3); Tanjay City (2); Sta. Catalina (2); Basay, Bacong, Dauin, and Sibulan (one each); and one admitted at the Silliman University Medical Center here but is from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The province has 380 pending swab test results at testing facilities in Cebu City, Estacion said.
