Police have arrested two fish vendors while some PHP23, 500 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate drug buy-bust operations in the city, police said Thursday.

Police arrested Alix Usman Osama, 47, in an entrapment on Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Mother Poblacion 2 here.

“He attempted to run after an exchange with our poseur-buyer but was immediately collared by the arresting team,” Major Glenn Mar Avisa, city police station 1 commander, said.

Avisa said Osama yielded some 3.3 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP23,000, and other pieces of evidence.

On the same day, police also arrested drug suspect Puti Majid Talib, 47, in Barangay Bagua here, and confiscated a packet of shabu worth PHP500.

“The suspect was surprised to know that he was dealing with an undercover police agent after other cops sprung up to arrest him,” Capt. Rustom Pastolero, city police station 2 commander, said.

The two suspects will be charged in violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
