A woman was arrested after she yielded suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP136,000 during a buy-bust conducted by police operatives in Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang-Airport in this city on Friday.

In a report, the Bacolod City Police Office identified the suspect as Sarian Joy Cagayanan, 33, a resident of neighboring Purok Mahiliugyon in Barangay 35.

Her partner, identified only as alias “Tangkay”, the target of the operation, evaded arrest.

At 3:30 a.m., the suspect, listed as a street-level individual, sold a sachet of shabu worth PHP500 to a poseur-buyer from the drug enforcement team of Police Station 8.

Maj. Joery Puerto, chief of Police Station 8, said in a radio interview that based on gathered information, Cagayanan also delivers the prohibited substance to Valladolid town in the southern part of Negros Occidental.

Puerto added that they have been coordinating with the Valladolid Municipal Police Station regarding the operation of the suspect in the area.

During the buy-bust, operatives seized from Cagayanan two elongated and three big sachets of shabu, weighing about 20 grams, pegged at a standard drug price of PHP6,800 per gram or a total of PHP136,000.

The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
